My New Healthy Kick

Over the last 2 weeks I’ve decided to try something that I try once in awhile to see if it will help me lose weight. I was pretty set to do it but knew it would be a challenge again, because it always is. I decided….to drink water.

My water drinking is very limited. During the weekdays I maybe have 2 small cups. I do drink tea but someone told me that wasn’t the same. Also, I do drink vodka with seltzer so I thought that counted as well…but I was told no.

This all started when my partner recently asked me how much I weighed and wanted to know why I wouldn’t get on the scale so they could see. I just said it was none of their business, but they convinced me to do it- in a weeks time. So I decided that I was going to run and exercise and pound water. I have a 32oz. water bottle and a 32 oz cup for home. I also downloaded the plant nanny app (check it out, it’s kinda cool).

I was pounding water at work (and gagging). Why doesn’t it have a taste? Why do we need so much of it? Anyways, I had pee coming out of my ears. It was like twice an hour I was peeing for a straight 15 minutes.

The second day I felt better, it became a little easier and I didn’t gag as much. I had run the night before and even went for a walk that morning before work. When I got home I decided I was going to step on the scale to see where I was at. I stripped down to my birthday suit and stepped on it. I had GAINED 20 pounds. 20 FREAKING POUNDS! At this point I’m fuckin sweating. I declared I’m never drinking water again and took a shower and went to watch tv.

A short while after I was settled in bed my partner comes to tell me the scale is broke lol. So I’m still drinking water, and I’m actually ok with it…..for now.

Wish me luck people.

The Metamorphosis

Well well well, I have begun a new workout program. I know, no surprise there. It’s the Metamorphosis by Tracy Anderson, specifically the omnicentric program. For those of you who don’t know, that means when you gain weight you do it all over and get round like a ball. I often lovingly refer to myself as Short Round, like the Indiana Jones sidekick.

I have been so tired of doing these workout programs created by men, and figured one created by a woman would be more considerate of how I move. How I move means when I do these programs I’m not flying around like a maniac with my boobs trying to run in the opposite direction.

So fast forward and I completed the first week, it seems to be low impact but definitely challenging which was exactly what I was looking for. Also one of the nice features of the program is that I can opt not to listen to the background music and I can just opt to hear her voice. The terrible techno music played during all workout videos kill me and I usually mute them and then at some point fall out of sync.

Also, I’m super proud of myself because this is my longest workout streak in 7 months due to some of life’s complications, but anyways-yay me!

I’ll post an update on how it’s going in a few weeks.

Not So Nutty For Coconut

I’ve been reading a shitload about how great coconut oil is. I decided to take things into my own hands and test this out. Now, I’m testing this out for my hair and body- not my food. I’m sure y’all are probably tired of us writing about food…..get over it.

Anyways so first I tried it as a pre-shampoo hair moisturizer. These websites say to put it in the hair, leave it in for like an hour and then wash it out. When dry you have amazing hair.

So I put it in and then threw it in a bun to really mash it all in.

I’m pretty sure you didn’t need a pic of my bun but oh well.

So I let it sit, the worst was that I felt hot slime sliding down my neck. Gross.

So after the time was up I rinsed it out and then washed it and let it air dry.  I really thought it was drying pretty nicely but once fully dry, it was frizzy af.

I’ve been trying it as a leave-in conditioner and I’m having better luck, but I’m not sold that it’s better than everything.

Anyone else have any luck?

Official Clarisonic Mia 2 Review

So awhile back I told you guys how I bought the Clarisonic Mia 2, but I didn’t actually review it. I wanted to give it some time and real use before letting you know what I think.

You know what I hate? When people review something after 1 try, I just don’t feel like after 1 time you really can make a decision if you like something or not. Or how effective something is. Also, for the people who get shit free in exchange for their review- isn’t everything that’s free better? Aren’t you going to be more likely to give a positive review than a negative review? When I spend my money and something sucks, I’m pissed and wanna tell EVERYONE. When it’s free you can say f it and throw it away.

Anyways as for the review, it’s been about 2 weeks of me using it now. So far I consistently use it before bed while I take my nightly shower. The normal brush head that came with it is very soft, for whatever reason I thought it was going to be more abrasive. Also, it’s doesn’t actually feel like something is spinning, it just feels like a vibration. The Mia 2 comes with a timer, so it automatically pauses when it’s time for you to move to the next section-with the forehead and chin getting the most time. By far my favorite feature. It makes washing your face effortless.

Since using it my face absolutely feels more lush. I’ve also noticed a lot less pimples underneath my chin. Someone actually complimented me on my face today and told me it looks like I got a facial.

I will definitely continue to use this product and I do think it’s worth the money- seriously, it’s your face. It’s the first thing people see.

Great investment, anyone else have one?

Clarisonic Miaaaaaa

A few weeks ago my bestie and I were having drinks and she brought up the Clarisonic Mia 2 that she had received as a gift. She raved about how it changed her  face and she knew someone else who it helped too. Being that she’s in the medical field, when she gives me a tip I usually listen.

I have always had acne, no matter what I tried it just never cuts it. So I thought about it and then looked it up and holy shit…$150! Oh hell naw, my pockets don’t work like that…. Also, I’m the queen of deals/eBay/Amazon, so I figured I would find a super good deal.

I checked eBay and Amazon and spent hours on it and it was still pretty expensive for a new one, so I started thinking about buying a used one…I could just sanitize the shit out of it and of course get new brushes for it. I put in a few bids that got stomped on pretty quickly….and then low and behold I was on the wish app and I found it for a third of the price. NEW. I was ok knowing that it would take a month to get to me, I’ve been washing my face for over 20 years without it-what’s 1 more month?

Stupid me, the anticipation was driving me crazy and I was checking the shipping everyday. As I was googling it I found a site that was talking about fake ones being released on the market.

I was sad. I knew this was too good to be true, so I saved the link so when mine came I could check it against the description of the fake ones.

A billion days later it came and I ripped it open and was just in awe of this device that would make my face as radiant as Beyonc√©’s.

After I pushed the buttons 1000 times I pulled up the link and wouldn’t y’all know- it was the real deal! I guess sometimes good things do come to people who wait!

Do you have one of these? How do you like it?
